Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Procurement Engineer to join a major mega hospitality development project valued at 8 billion SAR in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on overseeing the procurement of all electrical components, including power, ELV, and lighting systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that procurement activities align with project timelines, budget requirements, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Procurement Engineer will develop detailed procurement plans linked to project milestones and schedules. Identifying long-lead items such as transformers, switchgear, generators, lighting, and ELV equipment is essential to avoid delays. The role requires close coordination with planning and logistics teams to guarantee timely delivery.

Additional responsibilities include reviewing electrical bill of quantities (BOQs), drawings, and technical specifications. Preparing and issuing RFQs, analyzing supplier quotations, and conducting both technical and commercial bid evaluations ensure compliance with industry standards like IEC, NEC, SBC, and SEC.

Maintaining excellent supplier and vendor relationships is crucial, involving sourcing, prequalifying, negotiating pricing and contracts, and managing an approved vendor list specific to electrical and ELV systems. The engineer will also monitor procurement budgets, conduct market analysis, and suggest value engineering where appropriate to optimize costs.

Managing the procurement process entails issuing purchase orders, maintaining documentation, tracking approvals, and ensuring coordination with quality assurance teams for proper inspection. The role also involves resolving procurement or technical issues in collaboration with electrical design teams, site engineers, and logistics personnel.

Handling risks such as supplier delays, shortages, or defective materials will be part of the daily responsibilities. Expediting urgent material needs and managing claims or returns completes the scope of the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 7 to 12+ years of hands-on experience in electrical procurement, preferably within hospitality or large-scale projects
• Deep knowledge of power systems, lighting, and ELV systems (CCTV, BMS, Fire Alarm, Data)
• Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical submittals accurately
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC, NEC, SBC, and SEC
• Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP or Oracle
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills combined with excellent communication and coordination abilities
• Analytical mindset geared toward cost optimization and efficient procurement
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Experience

Applicants with previous experience in luxury or hotel projects, as well as those who have worked on notable regional projects such as PIF, Red Sea, or Diriyah, will be given preference. Experience working in the GCC region or Saudi Arabia is highly advantageous.
